Manchett - George William.
MANCHETT, George William – Private – G.68546, 17th Bn. Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regt)
He was born at Upwood on 29th July 1892, son of Amos & Mary MANCHETT of Ramsey Hollow, died of wounds on Sunday, 2nd December 1917, aged 25 years, and his grave is in the Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manancourt, Somme, France. [Not on Ramsey memorial; on Warboys memorial] Formerly 205122 4th Bn. Northamptonshire Regt.
From a local newspaper his name appears as having enlisted in the Army by June 10th 1915 - Marriott, S., Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion.
MASON, Arthur – Private – 202368, ‘C’ Coy, 3rd Bn. Royal Welch Fusiliers.
He was the son of John & Sarah Jane MASON of 32 Star Lane, Ramsey, was stationed at Limerick, after having served for nearly two years at the Front where he had been gassed. He died of influenza at Limerick Military Hospital on Wednesday, 13th November 1918, aged 25 years, and was buried in Ramsey cemetery. He left a widow Florence Annie Evelyn (nee STOKES) MASON who he had married on 11th October 1917, living at 19 Station Road, Ramsey.
MAY, Henry V.A.
He was an ex-naval man, died at Papworth Hall in June 1921, and was interred in Ramsey Cemetery on Tuesday, leaving a widow. Mr. W. BINDER represented the Society of Discharged and Demobilised Sailors & Soldiers at the funeral.
MAYCOCK, Edgar – Private – 160563, 38th Bn. Machine Gun Corps. (Infantry)
From Somersham, a native of Ramsey Hollow, son of Sam & Elizabeth (nee DICKERSON) MAYCOCK, enlisted at Huntingdon. He died from pneumonia at the 18th Casualty Clearing Station, France, on Saturday, 9th November 1918, aged 25 years, and was buried in the Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manancourt, Somme, France. = 'Ramsey Arrivals from the Front'
There have arrived in Ramsey for a period of convalescence, the
following Ramsey soldiers who were wounded at the Front, and certainly
are looking well as can be expected:- Private A. Mee - 2nd Beds. -
Wounded twice in shoulder by shrapnel at Ypres; was in hospital at Rouen
three weeks; since two weeks at Leeds. He has to report himself on
December 29th.

2nd February 1918 Seaman, R. N. - suffered from trench feet.
MOULDS, Sydney Thomas – Private – 10396, 1st Bn. Bedfordshire Regt.
He was born at Wistow, son of Arthur & Annie MOULDS of Dawsons Farm, Ramsey Fortyfoot Bridge, Ramsey, enlisted at Warboys. He died on 5 July 1915, aged 19 years, and his grave is in the St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen, Seine-Maritime, France. [Not on Ramsey memorial; on Warboys memorial ]

MISSELDINE, Jack – Sergeant/Flight Engineer – 573564, 149 Sqdn. Royal Air Force.
He was the son of Joseph & Emily MISSELDINE of The Cross, Warboys, died on Friday, 12th March 1943, aged 21 years, and was buried in the Bergh (Beek) Roman Catholic Churchyard, about 14 miles from Arnham, the Netherlands. [Not on Ramsey memorial; on Ramsey Grammar School memorial & Warboys memorials] He is remembered on the Ramsey War Memorial.
Jack MISSELDINE, R.A.F. His name was inscribed on the original Wooden tablet in Sports Pavilion on Playing Field at Ramsey Grammar School. This memorial tablet is now located in the main Abbey building. This Pavilion was given to the School by Old Grammarians in proud and lasting memory of the fifteen Old Boys who lost their lives in World War II.
