. 290186 W. Wakeling   =    Under Battalion orders 242, issued by Lieut. Col. M.D. Barkley, officer commanding 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Vine cottage, Chapel St. Leonards, Alford, Lincs. on 12th October 1917 at 6:30 p.m., and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), orders being for the following day i.e. 13th October 1917 (Ref: 153), records indicate that he was granted proficiency pay class 1 instead of class 2 from 3/7/1917, at the time he was a corporal in A company of the 2/1st. Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion stationed on the Lincolnshire coast.


Private W. Wakeling 290188 - Under Battalion orders, issued by Lieut. Col. M. D. Barkley, Commanding Officer, 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Beechlands, Skegness, on 22nd August 1918, issue 196 [Territorials] and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), orders being for the following day i.e. 30th August 1918, records indicate that he was in A Company and was to proceed to Refresher course Army Signal School, Dunstable, 21/8/18.
