Sidney Whitehead.

. Pte S. Whitehead 290441 - Under Battalion orders 293, issued by Lieut. Col. J. L. Barkley V. D., officer commanding 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Vine cottage, Chapel St. Leonards, Alford, Lincs. on 11th December 1916 at 6:00 p.m., and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), orders being for the following day i.e. 12 December 1916 (Ref: 151), records indicate that he was placed under orders to proceed overseas and if he was holding an acting rank  he was to revert to his substantive rank before proceeding overseas. At the time he was in D company with the 2/1st HCB based on the Lincolnshire coast.  

Pte S Whithead 290141 D company - Under Battalion orders 293, issued by Lieut. Col. J. L. Barkley V. D., officer commanding 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Vine cottage, Chapel St. Leonards, Alford, Lincs. on 11th December 1916 at 6:00 p.m., and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), orders being for the following day i.e. 12 December 1916, records indicate that he was granted leave of absence from 12-2-1917 to 16-12-1917 inclusive.
