'Flitter' White.

From a local paper dated 25/8/1916:-

Hunts. Cyclist Killed.

The sad news reached St. Neots on Monday of the death in action of Pte. Frank White ("Flitter"), of the Hunts. Cyclist Battalion, (attached Berkshires).  He is the first St. Neots member of this Battalion to be killed in the war.  his age was 23, and about six weeks ago he married a daughter of Mr. J. Berry, of Eaton Socon, with whom much sympathy is felt.  Before the war he was employed at the Paper Mills, and then for Mr.. H. F. Bull, builder, and was a prominent member of the St. Mary's football  team.  His father died about 9 months ago.  Another brother, George, is serving in the Army.

His name  as it appears high up on the rear of Thiepval memorial in France.
