25/8/1916 = "Buckden Men Wounded. = Pte. H. Usher, of the Hunts. Cyclists, attached to the Bucks. Regiment, has been wounded, and is in hospital in France". 25/8/1918
= "Hunts
Cyclist Casualty. There are a variety of rumors that some of the Hunts.
Cyclists who recently went to France have had their baptism of fire.
It is reported from Buckden that Pte. H. Usher has been wounded and
is in hospital in France suffering from a badly bruised side caused by the
explosion of a shell". Henry Thomas Usher was born in Buckden, Hunts., enlisted at Huntingdon, served in the 1st Bucks Bn. Ox & Bucks Light infantry as Private 267575 when he was Killed in action on 16/8/17 aged 32. He is remembered on the Tyne Cot Memorial. |
