Herbert Harry Turner lived at number 5, St. Margarets Place, Old Fletton. As private 43077, in the 1st Bedfordshire Regiment he was killed in action 4th September 1916 at Falfemont Farm, Somme, France. |

a local paper dated SEPTEMBER 30TH 1916 = Private
H. H. Turner of 5 St. Margaret's Place, Old Fletton, killed in action on
September 4th was attached to the Bedfordshires having formerly been in the
Cyclists. He was 38 years of age and had been employed at Messrs Hicks,
Gardener and Co's works at Fletton. He enlisted a year and eight months ago,
he leaves a widow and five young children. |
