Harold Bernard Topper.

Topper Harold Bernard, b Colne, Hunts., e Huntingdon, (Colne), 267571 Pte., KIA F&F 15/8/16. Thiepval Memorial. He served in the 1st Bucks Bn. Ox & Bucks Light infantry.
He is also remembered on the Colne War Memorial that is situated on the village Green.

Local newspaper entries indicate that by 18th December 1914 Private H. [B] D. Topper had been promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal at the time it was indicated that he was serving as soldier number 549 in the 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Bat.
