Arthur Frederick Tatman.

. Arthur was born in Stanground, enlisted on the 02/11/1914 at Huntingdon, at the time he was living at Diddington, Huntingdonshire.  He was posted to the 1/1st Battalion, he later served with the 2/1st [Reserve] Battalion. He was allocated the HCB number of 931.  He later was transferred into the 1st Royal Berkshire Regiment with the new number 39424.  He was wounded on the 19/3/1917 and died three days later on the 19th. He was the only son of Arthur and Louisa.  He is buried in Contay cemetery on the Somme in grave No. VI- D-12.
. 6/4/1917 - Diddington Man Dies of Wounds - Pte. A. Tatman, attached to Royal Warwicks, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Tatman, of Diddington, died on march 19th, following wounds received in action. A member of the village choir and a Sunday school teacher, he joined the Cyclists in the first year of the war, and had been in France since July. A memorial service was held on Sunday afternoon.
