Albert Worling.

  Albert enlisted in the Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion mid 1915, the first time he appears in any record is on the 14th May 1915, when his name appears as being recently enlisted.  He gave his abode as Peterborough and his occupation was stated as being a Clerk.
  Upon enlistment he was sent to the 3/1st Battalion and allocated the number 1312.

As a Territorial unit the HCB were unable to serve overseas, the HCB being a Home Service Battalion, and thus had to transfer into another Regiment when he went overseas.  Records indicate that he went into the

1/1st Buck Bat Ox and Bucks. Light Infantry with the Army number of 20758.  He is also recorded as having another Ox and Bucks Army number of 267542.

His medals are numbered - HCB for the British War and Victory medal as Pte A Worling 1312.  His Military Medal id inscribed as 267542 to the Ox an Bucks Light Infantry.  It is thought that his MM was awarded for service in Italy - London Gazette 29 March 1919 - 4131.
