Thomas R. Saunders

Local newspaper entries indicate that by 2/1/1915 Private Thomas R. Saunders had joined the 2/1st HCB and had been taken onto the strength of the Battalion.

Local newspaper entries indicate that by 9/4/1915 Private Thomas R. Saunders had been promoted to the rank of Acting Paid Lance Corporal Acting Paid Lance Corporal at the time it was indicated that he was serving in the 2/1st HCB - G Company. 

Private Thomas R. Saunders, by the 10/4/1915 he had been promoted to Acting Paid Lance Corporal in G Company of the 2/1st H C B.

Sergeant T. R. Saunders - 290264 - Under Battalion orders, [part 2] issued by Lieut. Col. M. D. Barkley, officer commanding 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Beechlands, Skegness on 11th August 1918, and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), on 10th August 1918 at 2-0 p.m., [Territorials] records indicate that he was posted to the 3rd Bedford Regiment on the 10/8/1918 and therefore struck off the strength of the Battalion. At the time he was attached to C company. [Authority - 0.1c no. 2 Records Warley, 4/57/34 dated 6/8/1918].
