newspaper entries indicate that by 2/1/1915 Private Thomas R. Saunders
had joined the 2/1st HCB and had been taken onto the strength of
the Battalion.

Sergeant T. R. Saunders - 290264
- Under Battalion orders, [part 2] issued by Lieut. Col. M. D. Barkley,
officer commanding 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at
Beechlands, Skegness on 11th August 1918, and signed by W. J. Satchell
(Captain and Adjutant), on 10th August 1918 at 2-0 p.m., [Territorials]
records indicate that he was posted to the 3rd Bedford Regiment on the
10/8/1918 and therefore struck off the strength of the Battalion. At the
time he was attached to C company. [Authority - 0.1c no. 2 Records
