Sidney Robert Saunders.

. Saunders Sidney Robert, e Huntingdon, (Woodstock, Oxon.), 267550 Pte., KIA 15/8/16. Thiepval Memorial. He served in the 1st Bucks Bn. Ox & Bucks Light infantry.  

From a local paper dated  17/11/1917  - The Great Paxton Parish magazine notes the following:  Three youths from Great Paxton joined the Cyclist Battalion.  Together their average age was under 17.  Almost at the same time one of them, Frank Lunnis, was killed, another S. R. Saunders was reported missing, and the third, W. H. Bennett, has received five wounds.  The latter has been home, and is now undergoing an operation to have a portion of shell removed from his chest.

He is remembered at the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing on the Somme in France.
