Harold Seaman.

Harold enlisted in the HCB before the 11th June 1915, the exact date is unknown, but that date is the first time his name can be found in their records.  At that time he was in B Company of the 1/1st HCB  He is recorded as living at Piper's Lane, Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire.   He was the son of Stephen Seaman of Pipers Lane, Godmanchester, Huntingdonshire.

From a local newspaper dated 11/6/1915: H. Seaman, [son of Mr. S. Seaman, Godmanchester has met with an accident at Filey.  He fell down some cliffs and received injury to his head, but not of a serious nature. [Other sources indicate that he was collecting gulls egg for sale to the local shops].

He also took part in a large race, cross country at Ripon Feb. 1916 - it is not recorded if he finished the course.

He was wounded overseas and ended up in hospital in Leicester - the nature of his injuries were not recorded.

24/8/1917  =  Pte. Harold Seaman, son of Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Seaman, Pipers Lane, Godmanchester, has been wounded and is now in hospital at Leicester.  Pte. H. Seaman was formerly in the Cyclists.

He went to Yorkshire with his friend Charles Cross.
