Horace John Picking.

. He was a private in the HCB coming from Papworth St. Agnes, Huntingdonshire he enlisted at Huntingdon H. Q. of the unit.

He went to France as a private in the HCB where he was posted to the Machine Gun Corps. with the number 43136.

His name was added to the HCB Roll as it was within a block number of men that served in the M. G. C. The data came from the Machine Gun Corps. medal rolls WO-329-1743.

He was the grandfather of  Bob Picking who had two of his grandfathers serving in the H.C.B. - Horace John Pickering and Frederick J Allgood.

Some records indicate that the spelling of the surname is Pickering - this is incorrect.
