Arthur William Parker.
He was
posted to the base depot B. E. F. France on 26th July 1916, he was rationed up
to and for that day. Order was part 2 No. 171 issued by W. L. Stephenson,
2/Lieut. & acting Adjutant, 2/1st Hunts. Cyclist Battalion. The order was
issued at Well Camp Alford at 8-00 p.m., 28th July 1916. At the time he was
in A company. He was born in Godmanchester.
He was also listed as 43028 Bedford regiment and 268173 Hertfordshire Regiment. Many thanks to Tony Stubbs for going to the grave and taking the photo. "Private, 235244, 1st/5th Battalion-Territorial, 1st/5th Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Killed in action Saturday 15th June 1918 in France & Flanders. Age 19. Born and resident Godmanchester, enlisted Huntingdon. Son of Harry and Rose Parker, of Godmanchester. Formerly 660, Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion, 43028 Bedfordshire Regiment and 268173 Hertfordshire Regiment. Buried in Magnaboschi British Cemetery, Italy. Plot 2. Row C. Grave 10."
