From a local newspaper dated 20/4/1917 Lce. Sergt. Mehew, of Huntingdon, writes from France stating that many of his comrades have just received the County parcel, and on behalf of all he desires to thank the Lord Lieutenant and the people of Hunts. for their kind thoughts and wishes, and also for the eatables. " They were received (he writes) with much enthusiasm, and I can assure you they did the boys a great deal of good. We all thank you for your great kindness."
