L. King - He won the Military Medal as a Corporal in 1st Bedfordshire Regiment, his original unit was the Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion. He had volunteered in 1915, and in July of the following year proceeded to the Western Front. There he saw severe fighting in various sectors, and took part in the Battle of Albert and many other important engagements, being wounded in action on the Somme in August 1916. He was awarded the Military Medal for conspicuous bravery in the Field, and holding also the General Service and Victory Medals, was demobilised in 1919. Diddington, Hunts. Z3230/B.
