George W. Jackson.

G. W. Jackson - He was part of a contingent of 130 men of the Hunts. Reserve Battalion who had volunteered for active service in December 1914. They left from Huntingdon station in carriages attached to the 10:06 train.

George W. Jackson was number 225585 in the 1st [attached 3rd] Royal Fusiliers, who was killed on the 24th April 1918.  He came from St. Neots in Huntingdonshire  and was given the number of 1657. He died in France & Flanders, enlisted in Huntingdon and lived in St Neots. 

Commemorated on Pozieres Memorial, Somme, France - Panel number 85.

He is remembered on the St. Neots War Memorial that is situated in the grounds of St. Neots Church .
