The Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalions

. William H. Holyoak enlisted at Huntingdon HQ of the HCB.
Little is known of his service history but William was given the HCB number of 1451and posted to the 1/1st Battalion of the HCB.

Thomas was at a later date transferred to France and posted into the 1/8th Battalion of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment (T. F.) with a new Army number of 307699. This number is part of a block of numbers that was allocated to HCB men that transferred to the 1/8th Battalion of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment (T. F).

From this assumption it is assumed that he went to France in July 1916 as part of the main HCB group who left from Southampton to serve in the trenches of France and Belgium.
