Herbert Harold Heathcote

From a local paper dated -  3/11/1916 =

Pte. Herbert H. Heathcote, Warwicks, officially reported killed, was the son of Mr. S. F. Heathcote, of Brampton.  Prior to the war he was employed in a law office in Chancery Lane London.  He joined the Cyclists, went to France in July, was attached to the Warwicks and was killed on Sept. 24th.  Pte. Heathcote was 28 years of age, and single.  A younger brother, who was serving in France at the same time has been invalided home.
 
Private 30258, 14th Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment. 5th Division. Killed in action at Flers/Courcelette 24th September 1916 in France & Flanders. Born and resident Brampton, enlisted Huntingdon. Next of kin, Brampton. Formerly 1269, Hunts Cyclist Battalion. Commemorated on The Thiepval Memorial MR.21
He is remembered at the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing on the Somme in France. Panel 9 B.
