Harry Hubbard.

From a paper dated = 27/9/18 Lance
corporal H. Hubbard, of Buckden, killed. With
deep regret we learn that Lance Corporal Harry Hubbard, at the son of Mrs.
Hubbard, of Stirtloe, Buckden, has been killed in action. In the first
instance he joined the Cyclists. Mrs. Hubbard has received the following
letter: - Casualty Clearing Station, B. E. F.
19/9/1918. Dear Mrs.
Hubbard, - Lance Corporal H. Hubbard, Bedfordshire regiment, was admitted
here on the 18th September, and I regret to say died the same day at 9.30
p.m. he had a bullet wound on that the right side, penetrating the
abdomen. He passed peacefully away free from pain, he was quite
unconscious, and so left no message. I know this will be a terrible blow
to you, but a little comfort I hope to know everything possible was done
for him. He will be buried in a small cemetery near here. - Much sympathy,
yours faithfully, Miss E. O. Schofield, Sister in charge. |
