Charles Hales.

. Charles Hales came from Wistow in Huntingdonshire.  He enlisted at the Battalion H Q of the Hunts Cycles on the 2/11/1914 at St. Mary's Street, Huntingdon.  There is only one reference to him as a Cyclist and this indicates that he was a Private and was at some time transferred to the 14 (Service) Bat. Royal Warwickshire Regt.- along with other HCB men.  This would be when he went overseas to France.

Charles Hales may not have been related to the family that enlisted in the Cyclists, but records checked again indicate that he did come from Wistow, and therefore possibly was a distant relation of  Burras and John.  This is still to be proved.

Thanks to his relations, Stephen Howes, Elizabeth Cunningham and Janice Smith, for helping with some information on this page.
