Alfred Harvey.

. Local papers of the 15/9/16  = Private Alf. Harvey, of Eynesbury, Cyclist Battalion, has written home saying he has been wounded by shrapnel in the back of the right hand, and was also injured in the back by a flying clod of earth. He had to walk eight miles from the trenches to the place where his wounds were dressed, and then had a twelve hours' ride to the 6th General hospital, where he is progressing favorably. He says the shells make holes in the earth as large as Eynesbury Green.
