George Gibbons

G. H. Gibbins - He was part of a contingent of 130 men of the Hunts. Reserve Battalion who had volunteered for active service in December 1914. They left from Huntingdon station in carriages attached to the 10:06 train.

Local papers dated 1/9/16 = Private George Gibbins, son of Special Constable Gibbins, of Godmanchester, is reported wounded. He belonged to the Cyclists.

From a local newspaper dated -  15/9/1916 - We regret to find that Pte. George Gibbons, son of Mr. H. Gibbons, Godmanchester, whose case we noticed the other week is not doing so well as was first expected, and has had to have his foot amputated.
