Ernest Ford.

Ernest Ford who was given the service number 30166 whilst serving in the 14th Royal Warwickshire Regiment who was killed whilst serving in France & Flanders on the 3rd September 1916.  He came from     Great Gransden in Huntingdonshire and enlisted as private 795 in the Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion.   He was born and lived in Great Gransden, who traveled to Huntingdon to enlist. He was buried in Delville Wood Cemetery, Longueval, Somme, France. Grave XXV. M. 4.

From a local paper = 15/9/16  = Private Ernest Ford, of Great Gransden, killed.   It is very sad to have to record the death of Private Ernest Ford, Cyclist Battalion, son of Mr. Samuel Ford, of Great Gransden. Before the war he worked for the late Mr. F. Christmas.
