Robert John C. Drake.

. Robert enlisted in the HCB shortly before 14/5/1915 at Huntingdon Robert joined the 2/1st HCB [D Company] [later transferred into the 3/1st]. Upon enlistment he gave his address as Eaton Socon, Hunts. Walter Firmin & Rebecca. He also indicated he was born at Marylebone, London.  He gave his occupation as a Clerk and stated that his parents were
. He was posted to the base depot B.E.F. France on 26th July 1916, he was rationed up to and for that day. Order was part 2 No. 171 issued by W. L. Stephenson, 2/Lieut. & acting Adjutant, 2/1st Hunts. Cyclist Battalion. The order was issued at Well Camp Alford at 8-00 p.m., 28th July 1916. He was transferred to 2.0 Batt. H.C.B.
. In France he was posted to the 14 (Service) Bat. Royal Warwickshire Regt. with the Army number of 30307
. He was killed in action on the 26/10/1917 in France and Flanders and is remembered on the Tyne Cott Memorial.
