James Dockerill.
He was a private in the
2/1st HCB and was given the number of 191 - later 20737 and posted to
the 1/1st H. C. B.
Coming from Warboys, Huntingdonshire he enlisted at Huntingdon on the
21/10/1914 and stated that he was also born in Warboys, the son of Emma
Dockerill, Rectory Cottage, Pope's Lane, Warboys. He went to France as a private where he was posted to the 1/7th Bat. Royal Warwickshire Regt. with the number 268478. He was killed in Action France and Flanders on the 27/8/1917 and is remembered on panel 25 of the Tyne Cot Memorial, Zonnebeke, Belgium - he was aged just 20 years old. |
