Henry G. Deller.

. Henry G. Deller came from Great Stukeley, Huntingdonshire.  He enlisted at the H.Q. of the HCB in St. Mary's Street, Huntingdon on the 13/10/1914, where he was given the H C B number 609 and posted to the 2/1st Battalion HCB holding the rank of private.

He was one of a large number of HCB men that left the east coast on the 27 July 1916 heading for France at the time he was noted as being a private in A Co. 2/1st HCB.  During his time in France he was noted as being wounded the report being in a local paper dated 20/10/1916, the nature and extent of his wounds was not indicated.

When in France he was transferred to the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry where he was a private with the new Army number of 32509 .

At some time in his service life he also served in the King's Shropshire Light Infantry with the Army number 207892 - he was a private.

 His name is to be found in service records W0327/5 at the National Archives in Kew.
