George Frederick Dewberry.

. George was a Hunts Cyclist and enlisted at their H. Q in St. Mary's Street, Huntingdon on the 19th April 1915, he enlisted even though he was under age at the time to join the Territorials.  He was posted to the 3/1st HCB and held the rank of private, being allocated the Army number 290288. 

He gave his place of birth and residence as Wood Walton, Huntingdonshire, was the son of Alfred and Mary Hannah Dewberry also of Wood Walton and gave his occupation as a farm labourer.

Later in his service life he transferred to the 7th Bedfordshire Regiment with the service number of 290288 - records show that he also served in the 2nd and 8th Bedford.

Died [shot with own gun - family information as told by Walter Preston his friend in the Bedfordshire Regiment - this fact has not been proven] France and Flanders on the 20/3/1918 aged 19 years. 

He is buried in Chauuny Community Cemetery British Extension, Aisne, France and also commemorated on the Wood Walton War memorial.
