William George Cunnington.

William lived with his parents at 103 High Street Old Fletton when he enlisted as private 74 in the HCB.

He later transferred as private 268476 to the  7th Royal Warwickshire Regiment. where he died from wounds received on  11th August 1917 whilst fighting in the Ypres Salient. 

From a local paper dated 8/9/1917     =     Killed On Eve Of Wedding.    Private William Cunnington, who was in the Hunts Cyclists, attached to the Warickshires, Old Fletton, was killed in action in France on 11 the August. He was the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Cunnington, High Street.  Another son is serving his country in the navy.   

He is remembered on the Menin Gate in Ypres Belgium [panel 8].
