From a local newspaper dated  3/11/16

Death of Private W. Covington of Roxton.

It is with deep regret that we have to report the death of Private W. Covington,  of the Beds.  Regiment. His mother, Mrs. Covington, of Council Cottages, Roxton, who had previously heard through a comrade's letter that her son was dead, has received a official confirmation of the sad news from the War Office. Private Covington, who was a general favourite in the village, was trained at Sittingbourne, and only went to the Front two months ago. Everyone in the village feels great sympathy with Mrs. Covington in her great bereavement, more especially as it is only ten weeks since she received the news of the death of her son Private A Covington, who was trained at Ampthill, and had been on active service for fourteen months.
