. Second Lieutenant W. C. Clemitson - Under Battalion orders, issued by Lieut. Col. M. D.
Barkley, officer commanding 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Beechlands, Skegness on 16th August 1918, and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), on 15th August 1918 at 5-0 p.m., records indicate that he was ordered to proceed by train as a member of the Board of Officers and to assemble at the Supply Depot, Willoughby at10:30 a.m. on 16/8/1918 to inspect and report on the condition of a consignment of hay. He was to proceed by train leaving Skegness at 8:05 a.m.. He was issued with a rail warrant to proceed to the meeting.
