H. W. Crow

.

From a local newspaper dated 17/11/16 - Corporal H. W. Crow, of St. Neots, has been wounded and sent to the base. The extent of his wound is not known. From a local newspaper dated  24/11/16

Corporal H. W. Crowe, of St. Neots, who is now in hospital at Newcastle , in a letter says we were under a terrific bombardment for two days, until we went and attacked at 3:00 a.m. I got as far as Fritz's first line, when I saw the fellow on my left drop flat and the bullet went through him and into my leg, where it still remains, so I shall have a souvenir. I hardly knew I was hit, I was more interested in the poor chap who was killed by the same bullet.
