William Charles Brown.

From a local paper 8/12/1916:-   Pte W. Brown of St. Ives killed.

Pte. William Charles Brown, of the Royal Warwickshire Regt., formally of the Cyclists, son of Mr. W. Brown, of Green Street, St. Ives, is reported dead by the Territorial Force Record Office, Warwick.  Pte. Brown leaves a widow and one child.  A letter from a comrade states that the deceased and three other soldiers were killed by a shell on November 12th.

He was private, 20855 in the 1/8th Bn., Royal Warwickshire Regiment 

Killed in action 12-11-16. Formerly private no. 898 Hunts Cyclist Battalion. Lived Green Street, St Ives. 

Remembered on the Special Memorial 3, Martinpuich British Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France.

He is remembered on the St. Ives War Memorial that is situated in the car park area off the main road and square running through the town.
