J. W. Broughton.

. Local newspaper entries indicate that by 18th December 1914 Private J. W. Broughton had been promoted to the rank of Provisional Corporal at the time it was indicated that he was serving as soldier number 617 in the 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battn.

J. W. Broughton - His name appears on a list of appointments and promotions that appears in local papers on 9/4/1915. He was appointed acting Sergeant, from the rank of Corporal, in G company of the 2/1st Battalion.

Corpl. J. W. Broughton, by the 10/4/1915 he had been promoted to Acting Sergeant in G Company of the 2/1st H C B.
