George Henry Bowland.

Private 39291, 1st Battalion, Royal Berkshire Regiment. Killed in action Tuesday, 14th November 1916 in France & Flanders. Age 19. Born and resident Sawtry, enlisted Huntingdon. Son of Frederick and Louisa Bowland, of Ivy Cottage, Sawtry, Peterborough. Formerly 1684, Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion. Buried in Wagon Road Cemetery, Beaumont-Hamel, Somme, France.   His grave is numbered A - 31.

From a local paper dated  17/1/17  =  Private by George Henry Bowland, Royal Berkshire Regiment, Sawtry, wounded and missing since 1st November 1914, information gratefully received by Mr. F. Bowland, Chapel End, Sawtry, Peterborough.
