He was private 203348 1/5th Service Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Born St Ives. Enlisted St Ives. Formerly 389 Beds Regiment and 34 Hunts Cyclist Battalion Killed in action 19/8/1916. Aged 23. Son of J Butler of The Broadway, St Ives, Hunts.
He was buried in Serre Road Cemetery No.2, Somme, France - grave X1V.D.12.
