Albert Barker

. Albert Barker enlisted in the HCB at their HQ in St. Mary's Street, Huntingdon and was on the roll by the 22/8/1918.  He was in A Company of the 2/1st Battalion.  Private Albert Barker 48239 - Under Battalion orders, issued by Lieut. Col. M. D. Barkley, Commanding Officer, 2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Beechlands, Skegness, on 22nd August 1918, issue 196 - [Regulars] and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), orders being for the following day i.e. 30th August 1918, records indicate that reference Battalion Orders part 2 [Regulations] Issue Sheet No. 188 sub - paragraph 9 dated 13/8/18 add date of award 10/8/18 and award to run concurrently.

Lance Sergeant Albert Barker- 48239 - D Company - Under Battalion orders, [part 2] issued by Lieut. Col. M. D. Barkley, officer commanding2/1st Huntingdonshire Cyclist Battalion issued at Beechlands, Skegness on 23rdAugust 1918, and signed by W. J. Satchell (Captain and Adjutant), on 22ndAugust 1918, [Territorials] records indicate that there was a mistake in a previous award - Ref Bat. Order part [2] - No 188 - sub - par 9 d/d 13/8/1918'date of award' should read 9/8/1918.

Records also indicate that he served in the 2nd Bedfordshire Regiment with the Army number 482393 and also in the 4th London Regiment with the Army number 897125.
