W. L. Mann      "MARRIAGE OF LIEUT. W. L. MANN."   "The marriage took place at All Saints' Huntingdon on Saturday of Miss Alice Mary Purser only daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. A. Purser, of St. Peter's Road Huntingdon and William Leonard King Mann, Second Lieut. Hunts. Cyclist Battalion, only son of Mr. W. M. Mann and Mrs. Mann, of Southend -on- Sea.  The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. G. D. Latham, rector of All Saints'.  The bride, who was married in her traveling costume, was given away by her father.  Miss Lillian Brattle acted as best girl, and Sec-Lieut. H. P. E . Dawson, Hunts. Cyclist Battalion, officiated as best man.  A reception was held at the bride's home, and afterwards Lieut. and Mrs. Mann left for Leicester, en route for Llandudno, where the honeymoon is being spent.  Prior to the war Lieut. Mann was an esteemed member of the "Peterborough Express" and "Standard".

Sergeant W. L. K. Mann was one of three men to be gazetted Second Lieutenant < 31/12/1915. 

Marriage Details - William Leonard King Mann 2/l t. in the HCB son of W. M. Mann of Southend on Sea married Alice Mary Purser of St. Peters Road Huntingdon on Saturday < 3/11/1916. Before the was he was a Journalist on the Peterborough Express and Standard, his best man was Second Lieutenant H. P. E. Dawson.

From a local paper dated  31/12/1915  = Sergeant W. L. K. Mann was one of three men to be gazetted Second Lieutenant < 31/12/1915. 

Local newspaper entries indicate that by 6/11/1915 Corporal W. L. K. Mann [C Co.] now posted to [F Co.] had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant at the time it was indicated that he was serving in the 2/1st Hunts.
